“Service Is The Powerful Catalyst In The Cycle Of Humanity”
So What Else is nonprofit organization that provides recreational, fitness, academic, cultural, life skills, and community service programs for at-risk youth in the Washington, D.C Metropolitan Area. We:
- work in their communities, with community leaders, to improve and achieve lasting positive change in their lives;
- form collaborative partnerships with other not-for-profits and public sector youth-focused agencies which allows for leveraging the range of services provided; and
- encourage the youth to incorporate the “pay forward*” tenet into their value system.
So What Else provides the youth a year-round learning environment to provide them with the skills essential for success. This environment:
- focuses on the areas of their lives where they experience the most deficits;
- provides a range of healthy developmental services; and
- offers them approaches to make positive life choices.
We envision communities where at-risk youth realize their potential and improve the communities they live in through sound life choices and service.
(*When someone does a good deed for you, instead of paying them back, “pay it forward” by doing a good deed for someone else.)
