Sports Clinic for Disabled Youth with Friendship Circle

Our partners at the Friendship Circle have given us this opportunity to teach and play sports with intellectually and physically disabled children this spring. The youth will be divided into three small groups, and each group will participate for 25 minutes. One to two volunteers welcome to help with supervision.

Winter Wonderland Celebration

10-15 volunteers needed to welcome parents and families, help supervise activities for kids, and provide any logistical support needed at this seasonal festival.

So What Else Community Day

Date: December 6, 2014

Location: Silbert residence (11405 Guerlac Ct, North Potomac, MD 20878)

On this occasion, we compile all donated items that we have collected recently, and assemble a team of volunteers to sort, pack, and deliver items to various local shelters.

All volunteers and staff will meet at Dave’s house for breakfast, then sort loads of donations and pack them in their personal cars to deliver to shelters.

Sara’s Hope Shelter Birthday Party Program

Monthly birthday parties for the children of Sara’s Hope. Volunteers assist with arts and crafts and celebrating with the kids

Thanksgiving Dinner Distribution with Nourish Now

Two Shifts: 9:00AM to 12:00PM and 4:00PM to 7:00PM

Nourish Now will be collecting canned food throughout the fall in preparation for this big annual event.

In the week leading up to Thanksgiving, they will be holding volunteer events each day to sort the food into pre-packaged meal kits and distribute the kits to an expected 700 local families, who will be picking up the food from the rec center.

So What Else has been given the responsibility of recruiting volunteers to staff this project for one day. Volunteers will be needed in two shifts–9am-12pm and 4pm-7pm–with around 8 volunteers per shift.
