So What Else Bike Collection for Bikes For the World

Its that time of year again!

DONATE your bike to a great cause! We are collecting bikes, spare parts and bike tools for Bikes for the World.

Bikes for the World is an amazing organization with a mission to deliver donated bikes to low income people in developing countries.

People use these bikes to get to work, school and health centers.

We are also looking for volunteers to help on the day of the collection with prepping bikes for shipment!

Taste of Potomac

So What Else is looking for volunteers to help facilitate Adoptions Together’s annual Taste of Potomac event, which helps fund Adoptions Together’s annual budget and provides them the opportunity to reshape the fabric of society, one child at a time.

Volunteers can work the full event or in shifts of three hours.

Potato Gleaning at Butler’s Orchard with Nourish Now

On Tuesday we are traveling to Butler’s Orchard to collect their surplus potatoes with Nourish Now! This is one of many gleanings we will be doing as Feed the Mind, the collaborative program between So What Else and our friends at Nourish Now, to support our after school programming. M Street Neighborhood Park Revitalization

Time: 9:00 am  to  2:00 pm
Location: 1st and M Street NE, Washington DC

As a “Part 2″ continuation from a June 20th event in the same location, this event will focus more on the playground area for the neighborhood kids.

Volunteers will be rebuilding and painting benches, fixing playground equipment, planting plants, and cleaning up the area.

Lunch is included via our Feed the Minds program with Nourish Now, and it is in partnership with Sibley Senior High Rises and Sibly Plaza Town Homes.

Back to School Event with Pleasant Homes and CSF

Date: August 14, 2015
Time: 2:00 pm  to  6:00 pm

So What Else has been invited to coordinate the sporting events at Pleasant Homes, Central Gardens, and Millwoods’ Back to School Event, in conjunction with Community Services Foundation.  Volunteers will be running stations for kickball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and many more!
