Olympics is one of So What Else’s biggest annual events, and we look forward to a day of sports, arts and crafts, service, and other fun activities with over 400 kids at Watkins Park! 

We will have 15 stations with sports, arts and crafts, and service activities; as such, we are looking for volunteers who can help with the set-up and general operations of the day, as well as those who can help run the specialized athletic and art activities.

Cherry Blossom Festival Fireworks Spectacular with National Parks Service

Location: Hains Point, East Potomac Park (14th St SW, Washington, DC 20024)

So What Else has been invited by NPS to provide volunteers and staff for crowd control, litter clean-ups, and general operational support throughout the event.  We will be meeting at East Potomac Golf Course parking lot (972 Ohio Dr SW, Washington, DC 20024) and then traveling over together.

Bikes for the World

Bikes for the World is a local group that donates good-condition, used bikes to developing countries so people can get to work, school and the doctors, and generally enhance their lives through better transport.

We’re looking forward to a fun event– we’ve led this event two other times for Bikes for the World and it’s been a lot of fun each time (lunch is included)!

If you or anyone you know have any new or gently used bikes (or usable bike parts– gears, wheels, etc) to donate, please come on out on the 28th to say hello and make a difference!

The Art of the Game with Pyramid Atlantic

Please join us for this fun annual event which celebrates youth sports and the arts! Some sixty youth participants will join us for fun activities including a basketball skills clinic, various skills competitions, a rap battle, and a t-shirt & cap design station! Volunteers needed to set up the space, check in guests, supervise sports & crafts activities, serve food, and break down at the end of the day.

Monthly Birthday Celebrations for the kids at Sarah’s Hope Shelter

We will be joining Sarah’s Hope, a 24-hour shelter for women and children, for a monthly birthday party for all the children in the shelter.  There will be cake, games, and arts & crafts as we help celebrate the March birthdays of the shelter.
