Green Festival

The Green Festival Expo needs volunteers to help check in exhibitors and help with general operations at the Green Festival Expo this summer!  We’re looking for around 6-8 volunteers, so if this sounds like a fun opportunity for you and a group, contact us for more information about registering.

JDRF One Walk with the JDRF Capitol Chapter

Date: May 31, 2015
Time: 6:30 am  to  12:00 pm
Location: Corner of 15th Street NW & Constitution Avenue, Washington D.C.

JDRF is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks on Walk Day, including set-up, registration, food and beverages, and clean-up.  The assignments are for 5-6 hours in the morning and you should be done by noon!  Note: Metro does not open until 7am on weekends, so you’ll need to get other transportation (free street and garage parking nearby).

 

KaBOOM! Playground Build with MoCo Coalition for the Homeless

The Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH) needs 75 volunteers to participate in a “one day build” to build a KaBOOM! playground for the Seneca Heights Apartments, where 17 formerly homeless families and 40 single adults live.  They require 75  volunteers on Wednesday, and we hope to supplement the volunteers they bring to the table to get them to 75!

This is My Brave

This is My Brave seeks to provide a safe community and a platform to speak out to end the stigmas associated with mental illness and are asking for a set of volunteers to help facilitate the performance (tickets, usher, etc). More details forthcoming

The Friendship Circle

This is a recurring volunteer opportunity throughout this spring with The Friendship Circle, an organization in Rockville dedicated to bringing social and recreational activities to children and teenagers with disabilities.

They have asked for volunteers interested in leading and playing athletic games and activities.
