Volunteering at the Walk is a fun and rewarding experience and will allow you to interact with all of our walkers! Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of tasks on Walk Day. We are looking for individuals to help with set-up, registration, food & beverages, along the Walk Route and clean up. The volunteer assignments will only be for 5-6 hours in the morning, so you won’t have to give up your entire day.
Shift 1: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and/or Shift 2: 12:30 pm to 3:30pm
Award winning Gandhi Brigade Youth Media is a pioneering after-school program that empowers young people in Montgomery County to use multimedia as tools to promote community building, multicultural understanding and the common good. The festival will feature short films and other media from students around Montgomery County. So What Else will be providing volunteers to help set up and break down, as well as manage flow. This is a great opportunity to support youth filmmakers promoting change in the community!
So What Else is hosting its quarterly Shady Grove Middle School service fair, and we need YOUR help! This fair, which is open to ALL Shady Grove students, is focusing on environmentally friendly service projects in honor of Earth Day, coming up that weekend. Students will be able to participate in 2 of a total of 4 environmentally friendly activities, all of which teach them how to be better stewards of the earth while doing their part to in making the world a better place. We are looking for 4 to 8 volunteers to assist with setting up the event, helping the leads run the activities, and minor clean-up at the end of the day; if interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org!
The Purple Laces 5K event race is hosted every year to support a local nonprofit, An Earthly Embrace, in order to heal, empower, and rebuild the lives of people impacted by domestic violence.
So What Else will be providing volunteers for assisting with logistics and art activities for the smaller attendees.
So What Else is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help us beautify the hallways at James McHenry.
Our intention is to completely transform the elementary and middle school hallways into a creative, colorful environment to encourage the students self value and self expression.
This will be Part 1 of a two-day project, which will overall consist of placing tape throughout the space and begin the painting process.
