Volunteers are needed to help at the White Oak Winter Wonderland Celebration.
Volunteers will be helping to set up and facilitate the White Oak Rec Holiday party for the families of the White Oak and Silver Spring Community.
Volunteers are needed from 5:30 to 9:30PM. White Oak Rec Center is located at 1700 April Lane Silver Spring MD 20904.
Volunteers are needed on our 3rd annual Community Day. Every year in December we sort and divide our clothing and goods that have been donated and we deliver them to shelters in need.
We are still in need of donations, winter coats and warm clothing are a priority. This year we are donating to various men, women and children’s shelters in Baltimore.
Volunteers are need to help sort the clothing and drivers are needed to deliver donations to the shelters in Baltimore. The project will start at 9:30AM at 11405 Guerlac Court Potomac MD, 20878.

Details: Come out and help facilitate canned food drives for a food recovery local Non-Profit organization fighting to help end food insecurity in Montgomery County.

The center is devoted to helping women achieve self-sufficiency. The purpose of the event is to help the women and children at the shelter to understand how special and appreciated they are even though they are homeless, they are still are loved. At the event there will be catered food, pastries, games, karaoke, mind stimulating activities, activities to get their muscles moving and blood circulating etc. Join us in volunteering for this great cause!

The Art of the Game Tournament with The Pyramid Atlantic Art Center

Details: This is a great opportunity for youth, grades 1st through 12th, to show off both their athletic and artistic skills. All youth will be able to participate in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, they will learn how to screen-print their own t-shirts for the game and participate in a basketball skills clinic prior to the game. Details: Bike to the Beach will be organizing a short training ride in Washington, DC to promote August’s big bike ride. Riders will meet at 6:30 at the Autism Speaks office building, depart on their ride at 7pm, and finish at Circa, where riders and supporters are invited to a happy hour to last until 9:30. So What Else can help Ben Dalley by promoting the event via social media, as well as by wearing blue on Autism Awareness Day to show our support for the cause.

We will accept sporting equipment and art supplies for SWE summer programs, gently used clothing to donate to one of the area shelters that we support, and nonperishable food items for Nourish Now.

Details: Volunteers will be helping to facilitate a birthday party for the homeless children at Sarah’s Hope. Sarah’s Hope provides 24-hour emergency shelter, case management and other support services for homeless women and children in the Sandtown-Winchester area of Baltimore City.
Volunteers will be meeting at 6:00pm to decorate the day room and create arts and crafts stations.
We need between 5-7 individuals to help and work directly with the kids. The party will end at 8PM and cleanup will go until about 8:45PM.

Details: On Sunday, April 13th we will be providing a nutritious home-cooked meal to the wonderful women of Calvary Women’s Shelter in Washington, DC. About 12 volunteers are needed to serve lunch to the women. After serving the women, volunteers are encouraged to sit down, relax, and enjoy their meal with the women. This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals and groups who may be interested in a one-time activity.

Details: Three to four volunteers (including one SWE representative TBD) are needed for the duration of this evening event to help with A/V set-up, dinner set-up, monitoring a silent auction, and break-down at the end of the night. The event is hosted by Many Languages One Voice in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Language Access Act. The event consists of a dinner from 6:00 to 7:30, followed by the artist showcase from 7:30 to 8:30.

Details: Volunteers are needed for the Spring Break Out! Field Day in Prince George’s County. Over 300 kids from PG County will be attending the event. Volunteers are needed to referee and lead sporting events, help set up and serve the lunch provided by Nourish Now, lead a face painting station, set up and cleanup crew. Individuals are also needed to rotate with the kids through the activities. Volunteers will meet at 8:00 AM at a location in the park to be announced.
