So What Else Summer Camps
During the summer, So What Else provides free daily summer camp for under-served communities all over the Washington metropolitan area. Using the various curriculums from our after school classes, the So What Else youth development team develops weekly programs focused on youth development, character building, recreation, and community awareness. So What Else visits an average of 4 sites per day, bringing service projects, sports, healthy living, cooking and nutrition, yoga, art, STEM, and music activities to children who would not otherwise have access to this kind of holistic summer camp experience. After participating in So What Else’s summer camps, participants are encouraged to implement many of these activities in their own community. So What Else’s mission is to provide extracurricular services to under-supported youth and encourage camp participants to use these skills to cultivate positive change in their own community.
