Andrew Sachs has built a career spanning almost 30 years in private equity that includes sourcing, investing, and leading at the board level for 45 separate businesses.
Andrew began his investment career in New York as an analyst at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, where he analyzed and structured investments for its $1.9 billion private equity fund. He left Morgan Stanley to co-found KMS Investments, Inc., a private equity boutique, with Broadway producer Kevin McCollum. Following the success of KMS Investments, Andrew became President of Capital Investors II, LLC, an early-stage venture capital fund whose LPs include many of greater Washington DC’s leading entrepreneurs and financiers. Subsequently, he co-founded Bethany Partners, LLC, a private equity boutique, with Joshua Freeman of Carl M. Freeman Companies. Upon Joshua’s early passing, Mr. Sachs founded Sachs Capital in 2007.
Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, graduating magna cum laude; a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business; and a General Course Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. In addition, he is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Epsilon and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies.
Andrew is a participant in the non-profit community as a member of the Board and Executive Committee of The First Tee of Greater Washington, DC. In addition, he is a top fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County and Dinner of Champions which raises funds for JCC’s inclusion summer camp.
Mr. Sachs resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife, son, two daughters and two dogs and occasionally may be found playing golf.
