Welcome the Baltimore Chapter of the So What Else Food Rescue Bank!

The So What Else Baltimore Food Chapter was founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and pervasive, systemic hunger in Baltimore. Today, the chapter hosts over 28 food distributions, community deliveries, and ad-hoc drop-offs in all four corners of Baltimore and beyond. While the program is primarily focused on serving West Baltimore, there are distribution locations in Hamilton, Highlandtown, Downtown, Dundalk, UMBC, and more.

Baltimore Mobile Food Distributions

So What Else Baltimore proudly serves the Greater-Baltimore region with dozens of mobile food distributions all across the city and beyond. The schedule each week changes so be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for real time updates.

Please Note:

  • All food is available on a first-come, first-serve basis until resources run out. The majority of our fresh food is recovered — meaning that the variety, quantity, and quality is subject to change from day to day.
  • Please bring a bag or cart with you when arriving at a distribution as the number of bags and boxes we have are limited and subject to running out.
  • Please note that some distributions are reserved exclusively for clients of the organizations we partner with. Any distribution that is exclusive to a particular clientele and not open to the general public will be marked with a “*”. To see if you qualify for these resources, please reach out to the partner organization to learn more.

Weekly/Monthly Distributions:

  • Please see our social media channels for the most up to date information about our Baltimore Distributions- they vary weekly.

Baltimore Resource Center

Baltimore-Resource-Center

In 2023, So What Else Baltimore proudly opened its very first brick-and-mortar Resource Center and Pantry in the heart of Southwest Baltimore, allowing the chapter to further support the surrounding Carrollton Ridge community. Though most clients are from the area, all Maryland residents are welcome to stop by and pick up from the center.

The Baltimore Resource Center is open every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Items available for pick-up include clothing, shoes, non-perishable food items, diapers, cleaning supplies, hygiene kits and more. Items are distributed on a first come first serve basis while supplies last.
