Welcome the DC Chapter of the So What Else Food Rescue Bank!

The DC Chapter of the So What Else Food Rescue Bank began in 2020 after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and has since grown to support over 2,000 families every week. Today, the program primarily serves the Southeast DC neighborhoods and buildings housing So What Else DC Youth Programs through a mobile distribution model, bringing food directly to the underserved communities they work with. The team also hosts several community events and volunteer opportunities across the city, including community clean-ups, voter registration days, holiday celebrations, and more, engaging community members and allocating resources across DC. DC Mobile Food Distributions

So What Else DC proudly serves the Greater-Washington region with dozens of mobile food distributions all across the city and beyond.

Please Note:

  • All food is available on a first-come, first-serve basis until resources run out. The majority of our fresh food is recovered — meaning that the variety, quantity, and quality is subject to change from day to day.
  • Please bring a bag or cart with you when arriving at a distribution as the number of bags and boxes we have are limited and subject to running out.
  • Or weekly and monthly distributions change often so please follow us on social media to receive up to date information about our distributions.
