How So What Else is Redefining After-School Enrichment

So What Else’s after-school youth program took learning on the road last month with two unforgettable field trips. We believe enrichment should be as fun as it is educational, and these experiences provided the perfect blend of camaraderie and discovery.

Capital Classic

On April 4th, the energy was electric as students and teen mentors from our DC and Montgomery County sites headed to the Capital One Arena for the 53rd Hoop Culture Capital Classic. Since 1974, this legendary All-American game has been the stage for the nation’s top high school basketball talent, and our crew had special seats to witness the next generation of greatness.

Our students didn’t just watch the game—they lived it, even scoring a cameo appearance on the Jumbotron. The excitement didn’t stop at the final buzzer. Afterward, the group explored the interactive wonders of the National Building Museum, where they channeled their inner architects in the LEGO Brick City exhibition.

National Children’s Museum

On April 26th, the spirit of discovery was in full swing as our students dove headfirst into the wonders of the National Children’s Museum. From immersive, interactive STEAM-based exhibits to the Art + Tech gallery featuring beloved Nickelodeon characters, our young explorers embarked on a variety of hands-on experiential learning adventures. Crowd favorites included the three-level Dream Machine climber and slide, alongside the whimsical Bubble Zone, where students had the chance to craft and step inside giant bubbles. It was a day defined by laughter and curiosity, and our crew is already dreaming of a return visit.
