Aslan & Fatima\u2019s Commitment to Supporting Refugees<\/strong><\/h1>\n

For nearly five years, a remarkable mother-son duo, Aslan and Fatima, has been making a difference in the Hyattsville, MD community by volunteering with So What Else. Their unwavering commitment to helping Afghan refugees has been particularly impactful, as they provide weekly food distributions to those in need.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the onset of the pandemic, Aslan and Fatima have taken their efforts a step further by adopting a local neighborhood. Together with our Food Relief team, they have not only delivered food but also donated essential items, household goods, and furniture to support these families.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a heartfelt tribute to the families and children they serve, Aslan and Fatima organized a special outing for 20 Afghan kids from the neighborhood to attend a DC United game on September 14, 2024. Their dedication exemplifies the power of community and the profound impact one can have through compassion and action.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>
